Glitched Perspectives

series

Artist Statement

This series of brightly-colored, abstract prints emerges from an exploration of glitch art and digital manipulation as tools to alter our perception of spaces. By corrupting and transforming photographs of Forest Hills Cemetery in Boston, MA, I extract unexpected results that challenge traditional notions of place and memory.

Through intentional distortion and fragmentation, these works reimagine the serene landscapes of the cemetery as vibrant, otherworldly compositions. The interplay of color, texture, and abstraction invites viewers to reconsider how spaces can be experienced, not as static realities but as malleable constructs shaped by perspective and technology.

This series represents my fascination with the tension between permanence and impermanence, using glitch art to fracture the familiar and uncover something entirely new. One print from this series was featured and distributed in Art in Print Vol. 7 by Zone 3, further extending its reach and dialogue with diverse audiences. By reinterpreting spaces often associated with stillness and reflection, I aim to spark new conversations about how art can shift our understanding of place and perception.
