Artist Statement

“Head in the Clouds” is a series of immersive, site-specific installations that bring the serenity and wonder of cloud-gazing indoors. Inspired by the idiom of the same name, these large, room-scaled environments feature glowing cloud-like structures crafted from vellum, translucent paper, and light. Visitors are invited to wander through these ethereal spaces, where soft illumination and intricate textures create a dreamlike atmosphere.

The installations are designed to evoke the calming, meditative experience of lying on the ground and looking up at the sky—a universal act of reflection and wonder. By bringing this experience into an interior setting, “Head in the Clouds” transforms everyday spaces into sanctuaries for relaxation, imagination, and mindfulness.

Through this work, I aim to reconnect people with the simplicity and beauty of being present. The installations encourage slowing down, taking a moment to breathe, and rediscovering the childlike awe of watching clouds drift. In a fast-paced, ever-distracted world, “Head in the Clouds” serves as a gentle reminder to pause, reflect, and let the mind wander.
